Toyota’s Josh Cook is aiming to end the year by securing fourth overall in the British Touring Car Championship drivers’ standings.

Cook, 35, currently sits fifth in the standings, just six points behind CPRL’s Adam Morgan.

The Speedworks Motorsport driver has enjoyed a strong run of form since the season resumed in late July, resulting in two victories and a further podium finish in the 15 races since held.

Last time out at Silverstone, Cook narrowly missed out on a podium in the opening race of the weekend, before going on to record a further two top-ten results.

But heading to Brands Hatch, the Bath-based racer is targeting more, saying that he wants a ‘big result’ on his way to fourth in the standings.

Cook has a reasonable record on the Grand Prix variant of the Brands Hatch circuit, winning twice on the circuit in 2021 and also concluding the 2025 season with a victory. He has also had at least one podium on the Brands GP loop every year since 2021.

“I absolutely love Brands Hatch GP,” said Cook. “For me, it is one of the coolest circuits on the calendar, and the GP loop is something you really look forward to as a driver.

“Once you head out onto the back of the circuit, it is fast, flowing and properly challenging. You need confidence in the car and you need to commit, which makes it incredibly rewarding when everything comes together.

“We probably left Silverstone licking our wounds a little bit because we knew there was more there than the results ultimately showed. The speed was good, so we need to take the positives from that and convert it into results this weekend.

“There is still plenty to play for in the championship and fourth is absolutely something I want to go after.

“More than anything, though, I want us to finish the year with a big result. The whole team has put an enormous amount into this season, and it would be great to send everyone into the winter on a real high.”

Team Principal Christian Dick is hoping the team can replicate past successes at the circuit, although prior to Cook’s win in the 2026 season finale it had never won on the longer variant of the iconic circuit.

“Brands Hatch Grand Prix is always a special weekend and I think everyone in the team is genuinely excited to get there,” added Dick.

“It is an incredible circuit, one where the drivers can really make a difference, and historically it has been a good place for Speedworks.

“The season seems to have disappeared in the blink of an eye. There have been some fantastic moments along the way, as well as weekends where we have felt we deserved more, and Silverstone probably fell into that latter category.

“That gives us even more motivation to finish strongly. We want to go to Brands, attack the weekend and hopefully give everybody in the team something to celebrate on Sunday evening.”
